The Surprising Album I Have on Repeat – Just Give it a Listen, K?

My husband calls me the human jukebox.

He’s not wrong.

My music preference ranges from Frank Sinatra to ACDC to Taylor Swift to Eminem. I’m basically a walking contradiction, and honestly, it’s something I love about myself. So while this recommendation is surprising, it’s also not because …. well, me.

Music The Blissful Elefante

I have two beautiful, wonderful, perfect little babies (they aren’t babies but let me be in denial, please.) One way in which we connect is through music. We discover new music together daily, spend hours watching music videos, attend concerts together, and have spent more time dancing around our home than any other single activity. Obsessed doesn’t even begin to describe it.

When I heard this album… ohhhh man, this album. What can I say? It’s so good. It is everything that has gone through my mind since giving birth to those precious little beebees. Basically it is everything I never knew I needed.

The album? Songs for Carmella: Lullabies & Sing-a-longs by Christina Perri. You know, “A Thousand Years” Christina. That one. Singer/Songwriter behind one of the most romantic songs of our time.

When I heard she released a lullaby album I just knew it was going to be a stunningly beautiful love note to my own children and I was here for it.

Whether you have children or you don’t, just give it a listen.

Hear me out, k? It’s the perfect album to play while rocking your baby to sleep or to use as background music while writing in your journal.

My favorite songs? Not that you asked, ahem.

You are my Sunshine (My most favorite as my mom sang it to me as a child.)

You Mean the Whole Wide World to Me (truly a bop!)

Dream a Little Dream of Me

Listen to it while you are meditating, or falling into a slumber, or rolling around with your baby on the floor and then get back to me, k? I need to know that there are other people in the world who appreciate it as much as me.

Talk soon! tara
